Haida NanoPro UV/IR Cut Filter 82mm

The Haida 82mm NanoPro MC UV/IR Cut Filter is a specialized ultraviolet and infrared control filter designed for both digital cinematography and still photography. When recording video with a CCD or CMOS camera, multi-stop neutral density filters are often employed to maintain proper exposure by compensating for increased light levels. This allows the camera lens’s iris to be widened, achieving a shallower depth of field. However, as more light is transmitted through multi-stop neutral density filters, visible light is progressively reduced, while infrared light continues to pass through. This imbalance increases the proportion of infrared light reaching the camera sensor, potentially leading to undesirable color shifts in the footage. These effects are especially noticeable in darker areas of the frame, such as shadows, where black tones dominate.

• Ultraviolet light waves are blocked at 390 nanometers, reducing bluish cast of daylight when recording video or still photos.
